Why Covenant University Ranks No 7 In Nigeria.

Covenant University is a leading private institution in Nigeria based on a number of prospective students/applicants that seeks to get admitted. It is a private Pentecostal Christian University, which has been operating with official status since 2002 in Ota, Nigeria. 

The University is founded by David Oyedepo (the founder and presiding Bishop of the megachurch Faith Tabernacle in Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria, and Living Faith Church Worldwide)

Meanwhile, Its admission requirements are usually very strict, little wonder, The Nigerian Universities Commission named it the best private university in Nigeria in its 2018 rankings and the 6th best university overall.

So it is on September 26, 2018, that the University finally became the highest ranked Nigerian university in the world universities ranking of the Times Higher Education (THE).

Furthermore, The University was also recently selected as one of the Africa Centres of Excellence for Development Impact (ACE Impact).

Similarly, in November 2018, The University entered the Subject Rankings of the Times Higher Education THE) for the first time in the Business and Economics subject category ranking 501+ globally

Again, in the recently released Engineering subject ranking, Covenant emerged in the 501-600 category.

And In January 2015, it was ranked as the best university in Nigeria according to Webometrics.

Meanwhile, a publication by Vanguard News Paper, that segregated universities in Nigeria into Grade A, B, etc. based on the JAMB score ceiling; categorized Covenant University as a “Grade A” university.

Be that as it may, the National Universities Commission in 2016, also listed Covenant University as the best private school in Nigeria.

And in 2017, the university retained its position as Nigeria’s best private institution according to the same government agency.

Again, in August 2017, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry awarded Covenant University with the best private university in Nigeria award. These feats were also reported in 2013 and 2014 respectively.
